Diyatalawa

Nestling in the mist-shrouded mountains, surrounded by jade carpets of tea, is a little holiday bungalow named

Bridge2Peace House of Children Diyatalawa

Fulfilling a long-held dream of Ms Liesl Nugara, co-Founder of the LPF Schools and pioneer Coordinator and Teacher Trainer for B2P, 50% of the admissions of this school are from the labourers’ families working in the surrounding tea plantations.

The offer of an education which could lay a sure foundation for the future of each child brought a surge of hope to the families facing extreme financial challenges. Redefined purpose redirected energy towards supporting the Bridge2Peace community: the parents of students collaborated closely with the teachers to organize events, festivals and other functions.

The generous donation by Natalie Anderson, winner of The Amazing Race, helped in many ways to convert her grandparents’ home into the little hub of learning and community service that is the Bridge2Peace House of Children.
